Versions, Editions and Licences
What are editions?
An edition is a release of a program that has a certain set of capabilities. For example BRAINtastic has a Home edition, a School edition and a Network edition. The School edition has all the capabilities of the Home edition, as well as several additional features, while the Network edition has all the features of the School edition with the added extra of networking functionality.
What are versions?
A version is a particular release of a product. For example, when a program is first released, it may have a version number of "1.0". However, when the program is updated (for example, to fix a bug), it will receive a new version number, perhaps "1.1".
Several of EdAlive's products have been upgraded to version 2, with heaps of cool new improvements, such as Universal Binary, Integrated User Lists (IUL), better support for Apple and Microsoft operating systems and much more! ... check them out!
What are licences?
A licence determines how you may use EdAlive software. For example, the Unlimited Site Licence for Baggin' the Dragon v2 may allow you to install the software on any computer in your school, while the 2 Computer Licence may only allow you to install the software on two computers.
Licences are often tied to editions. For example, several of the site licences come with both the School and Network editions, so that you can choose which features best suit your needs.
